Mobile Game Company ‘Eight Panda’ Raises $2.4 million

On January 13, Eight Panda, a korean mobile game company, announced that they raised $2.4 million as development fund from Korea Investment Partners and Ankang Venture Investment.

Eight Panda consists of developers with the experience in title development of major online games in Korea. With 10 years’ of experience in game development and experience of conducting initial stage to the final service, a new type of RPG customized for mobile will be presented.

Director Yoon from Ankang Venture Investment states, "From the previous meetings for investment, I realized the developers are professional and passionate about game development." He also says, "current mobile RPGs have qualities and contents that are just as nice as online games, and I believe Eight Panda also has the development capability to enhance mobile RPG.”

Manager Young Ho Park of Korea Investment Partners states “we decided to make an investment based on their technical skills, their long-standing teamwork, and the fact that they can quickly develop games targeted to Japan with superior quality.”

From this opportunity, Eight Panda will accelerate their game development which they plan to launch this year.  New project a.k.a. “Project S” is a sentimental action RPG for mobile global market and will be scheduled to launch the first half of the year. Another project “Project C,” a real-time turn style RPG with narrative art, will be launched the latter half of the year.

Director Sung Jin Lee of Eight Panda claims that they would “establish the baseline for service administration through continuous recruitment of talented members and infrastructure construction.” He also says, “we would strive to succeed in global game market via popularity of our work acknowledged to be made perfect.”
