Japanese Internet Startup Investor CyberAgent Ventures Opens Korea Office and Fund

CyberAgent Ventures, headquarted in Tokyo which is a subsidiary of CyberAgent, Inc. has announced that it will establish its new office in Seoul,Korea in August 2012. CyberAgent Ventures(CAV) has invested in over 30 Internet-related start-ups in Mainland China,Taiwan,Hong Kong,Vietnam,Indonesia and Korea. In Korea, CAV invested in Kakao Corp in 2011, which runs the popular messaging application Kakao Talk with over 40 million registered users. In a release the company said that it believes that the extremely high internet and smartphone penetration as well as the abundant number of entrepreneurs make Korea a very promising market.

The establishment of the new office in Seoul will enchance CAV’s investment and incubation activities in the local market said the release. After opening the Seoul Office, CAV will have offices in 8 cities including Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Taipei, Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi.
