Daum and Kakao acquires Dialoid and Sunnyloft

Daum communications and Kakao have acquired Dialoid and Sunnyloft to increase their competitive edge in terms of mobile services. Daum and Kakao both have been eyeing out the mobile integration platforms; Dialoid and Sunnyloft are speech/voice recognition technology and SNS startups and directly compete with Naver's `Link` and their SNS subgroup `Band`.

Joyn.T gains more than 1 million users in Korea

Joyn.T has gained more than 1 million users in Korea now. SK Telecom has been making 5 Joyn.T upgrades and have made a series of system optimization, server synchronization and quality improvements and overall service improvements.

Joyn.T will also undergo HD voice synchronization and from March they will be making further improvements on their services (for example, enabling messaging while talking).

They will also be expanding through Joyn T. API (Application Programming Interface) and work on their games, SNS and mobile commerce services.

KT launches cloud service "UCloud SSD Server"

KT has launched a cloud service called "UCloud SSD Server" based on their SSD (Solid State Disk). This service will enable a better output ability than the normal SAS disk.

An insider at KT said that a high-quality SSD is necessary for SNS services and multiplayer games. UCloud SSD Server can directly use the SSD infra in a setting where a fast loading speed or high-quality workload is needed.

LG has invested in cloud services this year also, and it will be interesting to see how cloud services will expand in Asia.
